Amazon’s Top 100!!!

I don’t write the type of astrology books that are likely to make it to the top of Amazon’s Top 100. Sun signs aren’t my thing and goddess help me, I couldn’t write a “how to learn astrology” book. The kind of astrology book I wanted write is the type that demonstrates all the really cool things astrology can do. My first book, “Growing Pains” explored the Jupiter and Saturn cycles and how they relate to child development and education. “Mirror Mirror” explored synastry and transits of famous people, the actors that portrayed them and what was happening astrologically that […]

Mirror Mirror: Lawrence of Arabia

“Lawrence of Arabia” holds a special place in my heart. Not only does it feaure the divine Peter O’Toole but it is a fascinating study of the history of cinematography. Although I had seen “Lawrence of Arabia” many years ago, towards the end of writing “Mirror Mirror”, I felt I deserved a quiet evening re-watching the masterpiece. I snuggled down on the settee with Mr Bubbles, my furry writing and film-watching buddy. Little Bubs snuggled happily and purr-fully in my arms as ogled and ahhhhed over Peter O’Toole. Sometime that night, I heard a muted thump and that was when […]

Bounced: The true story of how an astrologer took down a skeptic

I was just putting a few finishing touches on a column I”ve been working on for the Organization for Professional Astrology when I remembered this CLASSIC take down of Matthew Syed. I don’t know where Syed is these days but I don’t care if his careless Moon in Sagittarius objects to being ridiculed by an astrologer. I said I’d lay off him but. . .he SO deserves this! Quick Commercial Break! Before we go any further, please follow me on social media. I’m active on Facebook (@growingpainsadolescence), Twitter, youtube and Linkedin (@alextrenoweth) and Instagram (@astrology.conference.ace). If you’d like to have […]

A Nakshatra Story

Nakshatras. Not too long ago, Nakshatras were beyond my understanding. Or so I thought. . . When I was doing the FAS diploma, I forbade myself from taking any other astrology course until I finished the diploma. It nearly drove me crazy but since completing the course a couple of years ago, I’ve done a course on Hellenistic astrology and took Deb Houlding’s horary and electional courses. Still thirsty, I’ve been eyeing up Vedic astrology. Quick Commercial Break I hate to remind you but summer is almost finished and it’s almost time to get ready to go back to school! […]

Cycles of Child Development in Astrology

I believe it is important to work with children’s charts. However, firm boundaries need to be made and only astrologers with the right training in child protection (including police clearence) should be working with  the charts of children. For many reasons, astrologers should never compromise their consultancy practices by working with unspuervised children. However, understanding the cycles of child development in astrology is a useful tool for the toolkit of any astrologer. For a parent who is struggling with understanding their child (particularly their teenager), this tool is particularly useful and can be easily shared by an astrologer. If you’d […]
