Astrology Conference Reviews: Institute of Vedic Culture (IVC)

About IVC Kolkata IVC Kolkata (the full name is The Institute of Vedic Culture for Public Welfare Conference) and its affiliated school Krishnamurti Institute of Astrology (KIA) have been conducting astrology conferences for a full Saturn cycle. In 2014, IVC Kolkata welcomed the first Western astrologers to their conference. By 2015, they had increased the number of Western astrologers  to 7 and in 2016 the number had again increased to 15. In 2018, there were about 70 international speakers. And for their next conference, they will be welcoming over 100 International speakers and 48 student speakers. Many of the lectures […]

Astrology Conference Review: International Balkan (Belgrade)

Been going to the same astrology conferences year after year? It’s time to get out of the same old routine! Astrology-a field of study that is rapidly gaining interest-needs good quality schools that students can be proud of. The International Balkan Astrology Conference takes place every March in Belgrade. Since 2001, organisers Aleksander Imsiragic, President of ISAR (which is an affiliate sponsor of IVC), and medical doctor, author and astrologer Lea Imsiragic have been inviting astrologers from all over the world to present their lectures to the students of their affiliated school, the Johannes Kepler Institute. Lea is also the coordinator […]

Astrology Conference Review: ISAR 2016

Been going to the same Astrology Conferences year after year? It’s time to get out of the same old routine! ISAR 2016 wins my prize for “Best Connections” and it’s a conference well worth attending if you are just starting to branch out as an astrologer. Best Connections, ISAR I first attended ISAR’s biennial conference in 2014. It marked the very start of my career as an international astrologer (I had spoken at UAC in 2008 but was working full time as a teacher so wan’t able to travel much). My book “Growing Pains” had come out the year before […]

Back to School with Astrology: Transition Edition

Pupils born between 1 September 2006 and 31 August 2007 will be gearing up to start secondary school in September. The transition process from primary school to secondary school is exciting but can be a worry for teachers, parents and especially the pupils. Welcome to Back to School: Transition Edition! I’m a real teacher. I’m also a real astrologer. And this is my real advice for parents and teachers who are preparing their children/pupils for the first year of secondary school. That Transition Gap Studies show that pupils who are new to secondary school experience a dip in academic performance. […]

Astrology Conference Review: Perugia Italy

If you ever think to yourself “Gosh, I’d really like to go to an astrology conference that is steeped in history” then Perugia, Italy is your place. The Associazione Cultural Jayavidya holds its annual conference in June every year. It’s a one day conference, leaving you with plenty of time to explore magnificent and near by Rome. Or to just spend time exploring Perugia. Or to just soak in the culture and eat glorious food. Aside from astrology, Perugia is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in a different culture. Beautifully organised by Nunzia Meskalila Coppola, this is a conference I […]

Astrology Conference Review: UAC Chicago

UAC Chicago in 2018 was nothing short of amazing. How many astrologers can fit on a boat? (The answer is 750). And how many astrologers can you fit into a hotel? I think the final count on astrologers in a hotel was 1500. To be honest, I don’t mind too much. This was a highly successful conference for me (as well as many others) and it gets my “Jupiter Award” for bringing together so many people, for providing so many opportunities and for getting me to church on a Sunday morning with a hangover. Expensive? Yes but I (eventually) recovered […]
