“Trading Her Tomorrows”

Janis Joplin’s chart is voltage and vulnerability in equal measure. From being raised in a conservative household to being a braless wonder on the world’s stage, Janis Joplin didn’t just set the world on fire–she was the harbinger of a New World Order represented by the Uranus/Pluto conjunction of the ’60’s.  I’ve been a fan of Joplin since I was a very young child and I clearly remember the announcements of her death on television (yes I’m that old) The article below was first written in the early 2000’s as part of the Club of 27 presentation for the Astrological […]

Paul Newman: An astrological perspective

Originally published in The Astrological Association Journal, January/February 2009 Paul Newman was a hero of mine. I loved his rebellious, sometimes cranky nature, his smouldering good looks with the piercing blue eyes. I loved it that he drove fast cars well and that he was so satisfied with what he had that he could donate some of his wealth to worthy causes. He exuded contentment in life and within his marriage. He was a wonderful cook – so much so that his friends inspired him to market his own sauces and dressings. What else could we expect of someone with […]

Mirror Mirror: Amadeus

The 18 August marks the birthday of Antonio Salieri, the alleged rival of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who was immortalised in the biopic “Amadeus”. As with many biopics, certain liberties are taken with the storylines with the truth often being distorted to make the protagonist look more like a hero and the antagonist seem more the villian. Whilst rumours circulated about the rivalry between Salieri and Mozart, it is unlikely Salieri had either time, resources or motivation to psycholigally torture Mozart into an early death. If you would like to hear more about famous people and the actors who portrayed them, […]

Buddy Holly and The Day the Music Died

My furry baby Mr Bubbles and I curled up on the sofa to watch “The Buddy Holly Story” the other day as part of my research into celebrities and the actors who portray them. I swear Mr Bubbles enjoys watching biopics as much as I do! Anyway, my baby died on the morning of the anniversary of Buddy Holly’s plane crash. I’ll miss my kitty but there’s something very cool about his connection to Buddy. If you’d like to read more about famous people and the actors who have portrayed them, why not subscribe? The Lost Suitcase: Astrological Dreamwork

I had an anxiety dream last night about a lost suitcase. After the dream, I was shaken up and went to my office to distract myself with emails until I calmed down. About an hour later, because it was so early in the morning, I went back to bed to try to sleep. The result was about 4 hours of half-sleep because I kept jerking awake. I kept thinking I was falling down stairs or in a high speed car that was about to crash. By the way, if you’d like a dream interpreted, I can help. I know how […]

Chaplin

Happy birthday to Robert Downey, Jr who played Charlie Chaplin in “Chaplin” (and winning some very impressive awards in the process!). Easter break finds me with some extra time to work on my website and a few other things. Robert Downey Jr (who celebrates a birthday today, 4 April), was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar and won a Golden Globe in the same category for his titular role in “Chaplin”. The real Charlie Chaplin has his Venus in Taurus and Downey Jr has his Moon within one degree. The film was released as transiting Uranus in Capricorn was exactly […]
