Rowan Atkinson, also known as “Mr Bean” was born with Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Scorpio on 6 January in Consett, County Durham, UK in 1955 (no time of birth available). Jupiter in Cancer finds confidence in treating fellow classmates or colleagues as family and usually there is a pronounced interest in History. Natally, Jupiter is only a few arc minutes from being an exact conjunction to Uranus: this would magnify the eccentric nature of Uranus.
In 1983, Atkinson took the main lead in the medieval sitcom The Blackadder as Saturn was square to his Uranus-Jupiter conjunction. Blackadder II came out a few years later after budget concerns were resolved just after transit Jupiter opposed the natal Uranus-Jupiter conjunction in 1985. A distinct pattern emerges: Blackadder the Third (1987) was filmed as transit Jupiter squared the same natal conjunction; Blackadder’s Christmas Carol, Blackadder: the Christmas Years (both in 1988) and Blackadder Goes Forth (1989) were filmed during a series of Jupiter’s semi-square to the conjunction. Blackadder: Back and Forth (1999) was filmed during yet another series of transit Jupiter squares to the conjunction. “Mr Bean”, arguable Atkinson’s most famous creation was unleashed later that year. Thus it can be seen how significant the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction is in his life.
It is interesting indeed that the “Blackadder version of history” was criticised during the start of centenary commemorations of World War I in 2014 as transit Jupiter was in conjunction to his Jupiter-Uranus.
During 2015, both transit Jupiter and Saturn make a series of semi squares to the natal Jupiter-Uranus conjunction and in 2018, transit Jupiter makes a series of square aspects to that point. But in 2018, both Saturn and Jupiter make a long series of oppositions to Jupiter-Uranus. Will Blackadder or Mr Bean be making a comeback?
