Newsletter: Spring 2018

Alex Trenoweth

Spring 2018: I’m quietly settling back into my routine in London after spending four months in India coordinating the 2018 and planning the 2020  IVC conferences. I’m back to accepting new clients for tarot and astrology consultations. LIGHT YOUR INNER FIRE!! Just click the link to make an appointment.

Lots of events coming up including Organisation for Professional Astrology, United Astrology Conference, the Denver Astrology Group, “The Marriage of Heaven and Earth” with CIA, Associazione Jayavidya (Italy), Sedona Vedic Astrology Conference and Astra in Riga, Latvia. And of course, I’ll be returning to India in early 2019 for the IVC national conference. The IVC Youtube Channel now has nearly 800 subscribers and well over 10,000 views.

Lots of new material on this site too and look out for my article in Dell Horoscope “When a Flower Speaks”. It’s FANTASTIC to write for a magazine that actually appears in bookshops and newsagents (not to mention it’s a beautiful thing to be paid properly for writing!). It’s definitely a life goal achievement and puts past writing accomplishments in the shade!

Clients, Clients, Clients

It’s called “chambers” in India or “consultations” here in the West but, after clearing a massive backlog of appointments, I’m back to accepting new clients. I have a modest life-coaching clientele that I’m slowly building too.

This month I’m focusing on helping you to light your inner fire! It’s time to find your passion, embrace change and transform your life. LIGHT YOUR FIRE!!

As I still haven’t been able to tear myself away from the classroom (sometimes I do ask myself what is wrong with me!), I mainly have appointment times evenings and weekends. The majority of my work is done via Skype (AstroAlex1984) but I do some face-to-face work here in London or you can check out my lecturing schedule for other opportunities to meet me in person. All you need to do is contact me to book an appointment that suits both of us.

A few past events

How much do I love my astro brothers and sisters?

Enough to fly from India to Cape Town the weekend before the IVC conference to be a bridesmaid for Nick Dagan Best and Ana Carrapichano!

It was hectic to fit in 20,000 km of travel in less than a week before the biggest event of my life but not as hectic as the water supply situation in South Africa! Anyway, I loved being in Cape Town again with my other astro sistar Michelle Gould and her lovely husband.

Making the inaugural speech at the IVC Conference( first time for everything)! Yes I actually said “Welcome to our explosion” at one point!

Of course the BIG past event was the IVC conference in Kolkata. It was a TON of work and an ENORMOUS learning curve teaching western astrology, editing Constellation News, writing speeches and generally trying to keep everyone calm at the conference.

Most of the time, I took my own advice and just went with the flow (this was enormously aided by a very disorienting ear blockage that left me fairly deaf and immune to some of the drama that always accompanies exciting new things like an astrology conference in India where West meets East for the first time).

I always say everyone is entitled to one freak out for their first visit to India. . .I think a few people definitely indulged. But I’m sticking to what my London friends who attended the conference have said very recently: It was all a minor miracle. Yeah I’m sticking with that version!

Tour of India

Following the conference, I took a little tour of India with a couple of other speakers. If I say I had the time of my life, I’m not doing the tour justice. I was pretty exhausted after the conference but I perked right up after our first night in Varanasi (I met a very cute waiter with an adorable overbite).

From Varanasi, we flew to Jaipur for a bit of elephant riding (yes we checked to make sure they were cruelty free), monkey feeding and turban wearing. This was followed by Taj Mahal (I nearly fell on my knees when I saw it for the first time) and Delhi where we paid tribute to Buddha, Gandhi and Hanuman.

The beautiful thing is that my fellow travel companions and I got along so well despite sharing the same hotel room and car for the whole week. Love you lots Dorothy and Ra!

I’d do it all again in a second!

Lots more photos on my Instagram (creatively called “Alex Trenoweth”).

Belgrade

I was so busy with organising the IVC Conference, that I didn’t have a whole lot of time to give a shout out to the 18th International Astrology Conference in Belgrade Serbia, organised by ISAR president (and IVC speaker and affiliated sponsor!) Aleksander Imsiragic.

The cool weather in Belgrade was refreshing after so much time in Kolkata and I got to hang out with media sensation Nadiya Shah, Serbian MP (and bloody marvellous astrologer) Branka Stamenkovic as well as David and Fei Cochrane.

I also had a chance to catch up with Lea Imsiragic and have an inspirational to Alek’s and Lea’s school of astrology with Chinese astrologer Felicia Yiang (who traipsed all over Belgrade fortress with me searching for dinosaur models).

I’ve now done a fuller conference review which can be found here. Delighted ISAR featured my review on their website! Since seeing the Imsiragics in Belgrade, I’ve also met them in Italy and in London!

Massive praise to the Johannes Kepler Institute for Astrological Research and Education. I thought their students were energetic, engaged and so vibrant! And the best part is, we all get to stay in touch thanks to the wonders of social media.

Upcoming events!

Panel discussion on the Gauquelin Research click to register.

If you read my biography, you will see that I consider myself to be an astrological researcher! Here’s a little more to add to the story: “End of Season for Cherry Picking”.

On Saturday 5 May 2018 online, I’ll be joining in on a panel discussion to discuss the results that just won’t go away. I’ll be in great company with Dr. Glenn Mitchell, Dr. Kyosti Tarvainen, Courtney Roberts and a few others. A well deserved award was given to Courtney for her leadership in research astrology. IVC is delighted her initiative Canaveral Research will again be one of our affiliated sponsors in 2020. I’m also speaking at the Kepler Conference in January 2019 (scroll down to the bottom to find out more).

OPA

12 May 2018, online: Organisation for Professional Astrology “The Wolf You Feed”

This webinar is FREE for members or will be available mid June to buy for $10 through OPA.

It’s a real pleasure to be working with OPA. This organisation is one of our affiliated sponsors for the 2020 IVC conference and they were BRILLIANT support in 2018. We had several members who spoke at the conference and we really felt their support from the beginning.

To join OPA, go to their website.

UAC

24-29 May 2018, Chicago

This is my second time speaking at the United Astrology Conference (UAC), one of the largest astrology conferences in the world. It REALLY is a thrill to be included in the schedule with some of the biggest names in astrology such IVC speaker Nick Campion and  “Astrologer of the Year 2018” Rick Levine!! It’s a great opportunity to be mingling with all the stars of the astrology world as well as a great chance to catch up with my very extended astro family. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn, socialise and create future opportunities. I’ll be speaking on “Astrology and the Adolescent Brain”. Here’s the blurb (register for my talk here):

UAC Blurb

Do you really think you’ve outgrown being a teenager?

Recent advances in neurology seem to indicate that rapid brain development during adolescence has a long-term effect. It creates life-long habits that are nearly impossible to break.

Drawing on her award-winning astrological research on astrology and education, Alex will demonstrate the link between addiction, violence and neurological developments in a variety of case studies. This is supported by some very startling results from her statistical analysis of the 20,000 entries in her behaviour database. Her critical analysis of the “modern” educational system (which has changed very littled since the 19th century) is based on years of teaching in a conventional classroom. Her study creates a compelling argument for using astrology as a catalyst for educational reform.

Alex’s lecture is highly recommended viewing for parents, teachers and other authority figures as well as anyone else who thinks it’s time to pay a little more attention to what is happening in our schools.

Once again, register for my talk here

Denver

9 June 2018, Denver

Do I ever think to myself “OMG you’ve overbooked yourself”? Well every now and again the answer to that is “yes”. After UAC, I’m heading to Michigan for my nephew’s (squeee!!!!) christening then visiting the lovely Chris Brennan and Leisa Schaim at the Denver Astrology Group. Talk about full circle!

The 2008 UAC was in Denver and I’m so pleased I get to visit those gorgeous mountains and breathe the fresh air again. Leisa and Chris invited me to speak with their group last year at NORWAC but I couldn’t quite squeeze a visit in then so I’m extra grateful for the opportunity to make this event happen at last. I’ll be talking about “Astrology in Education”.

I’m a huge admirer of Chris’ work which you can access here.

I’m Agent 144 on Cosmic Intelligence Agency (CIA) and I’ve been deep, deep undercover for this fabulous social media group for some time. Like OPA and ISAR, CIA was one of the affiliated sponsors of the IVC conference. And what a great job they did! So good that IVC awarded Agent 12 (Control) Julija Simas with an award for outstanding work in social media. Congratulations to Control! And of course, we’ll be hanging out together and no doubt getting up to some sort of astrological mischief at UAC.

CIA

Following Denver, I’ll be in Boulder for the CIA event “The Marriage Between Heaven and Earth” from 8-10 June 2018. I’ll be talking about mystical experiences and sharing my own personal story of an out of body experience. Besides me and Julija, we’ll also be joined by Russell Olhausen (Agent 84), Shannon Gill-Jones (Agent 83), Adam Sommer (Agent 108) and Brett Joseph (agent 1123). Register here for this weekend event.

Italy

There’s more! I’ll be in Italy from 22 June 2018 to visit Naples, Pompeii and Rome then on to Perugia where I’ll be speaking at Association Jayavidya for their annual astrology conference on 29 June- 1 July. If I love Naples, Pompeii, Roma and Perugia as much as I loved Florence and Venice, then I’ll be in heaven! I’ll be meeting up with my good friend David Perloff in Rome so I’m anticipating a little tiptoe in the Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti along with some glorious local food. Mega thanks to Nunzia Coppola, one of the speakers from the IVC conference, for the invitation.

Following my return from Italy, I’ll have my head down again as I finish off some writing projects and teach English as a foreign language. I intend to enjoy the British summer as much as I can and get as much lesson planning for the Krishnamurti Institute of Astrology as I can in preparation for my return to India at the beginning of 2019. But. . .before that, a few more events . . .

Sedona

30 November-3 December 2018, Sedona Arizona

How much do I love Dennis Harness?? Well way back in 2015, before I met him in person, I was a fan. I’ve since met him in person at the fabulous ISAR 2016 conference (the conference was so fab-o, I had to break it into 3 parts) and we haven’t half had some adventures since then!  Dennis came to the IVC conference and blew the house down with his wonderful lecture. He was also a massive support to us at IVC from the very beginning. And, even though I am not a Vedic astrologer, I’ll be speaking at his conference in Sedona at the end of 2018.

Latvia

One of the wonderful things about attending astrology conferences is that very often, new connections will be made.

While I was at the Kepler conference in Belgrade, I met Liga Sirona who runs an astrology school in Riga. She casually asked me if I would consider visiting Latvia and of course I said yes. But then, with things being as they were in India, I forgot.

But Liga didn’t and she contacted me to arrange for a future event. Watch this space!

2019 and beyond

I’ll be returning to Kolkata to speak at the IVC’s 2019 national conference in January and helping to make further plans for 2020.

There are TONS of plans afloat for 2020 including another tour of the US, Portugal, Italy and Greece.

So that’s the plan for the rest of 2018. There will be updates and reviews of the events on my blog and in my future newsletter.
