In this interview with Alex Trenoweth for “The Astrology Show” on CKDU radio, Halifax Astrologer and ISAR Global Director (Canada) Mj Patterson discuss Alex’s life as an astrologer posing as a teacher, how she met Gopal Bhattacharjee (founder of the Institute of Vedic Culture in Kolkata India), what she thinks about the future of astrology and a few other surprises (like talking flowers and other mystical moments!). Opening question? “What’s a nice girl like you doing in a crazy job like this?”
Alex explains why she continues to teach despite a hectic travelling schedule and also talks about why it is so important for astrologers to work collaboratively.

Mj Patterson began practicing Astrology in 1978 and has been professional since 1987. She has held executive posts with the Ottawa Astrological Society and was a co-founder of the Astrologers’ Registry of Ontario, with Jean Hirst and the grand old man of Canadian Astrology: Axel Harvey. Before moving from Canada to the UK in 2002, she correctly predicted the Hamm majority government against all polls at the time and won notable mention in Hansards, the official record of the Provincial Legislature. She returned to Canada in 2011 and has reestablished her professional practice and astrology teaching to certification both in realtime and online. Mj is a founding Director of the Atlantic Professional Astrologers’ Association.

This paper was the result of a research grant from the American Federation of Astrologers in 2015. It was published in the AFA’s journal. It was further developed for the Institute of Vedic Culture’s conference magazine, Constellation News which is now featured on astro.com. The article later featured in National Council for Geocosmic Research‘s magazine Syzygy and the Astrological Association of Great Britain’s highly respected Correlation.
