Alex Trenoweth with publisher Margaret Cahill at Waterstones, celebrating the launch of Zeus on the Loose.

With my publisher Margaret Cahill of The Wessex Astrologer at Waterstones, celebrating the launch of Zeus on the Loose and our shared mission to bring astrology into education.

I’m deeply grateful to my publisher, Margaret Cahill of The Wessex Astrologer, for championing my work and helping to bring astrology into education. Margaret recently received the Charles Harvey Award for Exceptional Service to Astrology, recognition of her decades of commitment to publishing innovative voices. She is currently engaged in republishing the work of Geoffrey Cornelius at Canterbury Christ Church University, ensuring that important academic contributions to astrology remain accessible.

Margaret is one of astrology’s quiet heroes. She works tirelessly behind the scenes without self-promotion, yet her efforts have shaped the way astrology is studied and practiced worldwide. Over the years she has collaborated with leading names such as Dr. Nicholas Campion, Aaron Sullivan, and Judy Hall, among many others. I consider myself fortunate that all three of my books — Zeus on the Loose, Mirror Mirror, and Growing Pains — have been brought to life through The Wessex Astrologer.

I’m also deeply grateful for the generous words from colleagues, editors, and reviewers who have taken the time to write about my books. Their feedback not only validates my work, but also inspires me to continue bringing astrology to education.

Finally, I’d like to acknowledge the writers of each foreword — all leading astrologers whose words reflect a shared vision of making astrology accessible to wider audiences.

Zeus on the Loose: Unlock Your Child’s Cosmic Superpower

Book cover of Zeus on the Loose: Empowering Your Child’s Learning Journey with Astrology by Alex Trenoweth, astrology, foreword by Steve JuddForeword by Steve Judd

“Zeus on the Loose offers a fresh, insightful exploration of child development through the lens of astrology-specifically, through the cycle of Jupiter. This book reveals how Jupiter’s placement in the natal chart can illuminate a person’s learning style, motivation, and educational needs…This book is not just a manual-it’s a revolution. Alex, you rock – thank you for being its champion..” — Steve Judd, Astrology YouTube Influencer

Reviews:

“Alex Trenoweth is implicitly holding up a mallet to the stranglehold of the scientific orthodoxy upon educational values and shattering its opaque veneer to open up new vistas upon childhood itself, seen through the lens of astrology. Again, I admire her courageous stand, emboldened going where few teachers would dare. In this respect … she personifies the expansive and optimistic values traditionally associated with Jupiter itself.” — Philip Graves, Astrological Journal

“I heartily I recommend this book to anyone interested in understanding how their Jupiter placement, or that of their children, can be harnessed to fulfil their potential for growth. I especially recommend it to any astrologically minded school teachers. I think such teachers could use this book to gain a unique perspective on the learning styles and dynamics within their year group, potentially getting ahead of any issues and gaining a deeper understanding of their student’s needs.” — Amazon reviewer (verified purchase)

Mirror Mirror: The Astrology of Famous People and the Actors Who Portrayed Them

Cover of "Mirror Mirror: The Astrology of Famous People and the Actors Who Portayed Them" by Alex Trenoweth, a book exploring astrology through film and celebrity case studies, foreword by Julia ParkerForeword by Julia Parker

“It deserves to be bedside book of the year.” — Julia Parker, co-author of Parker’s AstrologyReviews:

“What an idea for a book! You really have to have an inspired moment to think this up. . .Reading this book, Iʹd say, it was worth every hour Alex Trenoweth spent watching near 200 movies, analysing and comparing hundreds of charts and characters, and finally spending two years putting it all on paper. . .In her book, she makes it clear that not any old actor or actress can play any old role. There has to be a connection between the personality of portrayer and the portrayed, as Julia Parker also points out in her Foreword. Mirror, Mirror is very stimulating for further research into both movies and astrology, as well as just a really good and inspiring read for film and astrology buffs – even for those who previously thought they werenʹt into movies. — Karen Hoffman, Astrodienst editing team

“I’m sure there is no other book that examines so many films through the astrological lens. Read Mirror Mirror if you are curious about why Renée Zellweger’s portrayal of Judy Garland is featured in the Chiron chapter. Or, likewise, why Leonardo DiCaprio’s version of Howard Hughes is discussed in the chapter on the nodes. Alex Trenoweth has written an easy-to-read book that is also an astrological education about the entertaining diversions many of us love.” — Mary Plumb The Mountain Astrologer Libra Nox 2022

“Alex works with children and she knows how to make learning fun. This book is fun to read while it makes you think. It is like taking a very good astrology workshop that is so interesting that the time just flies by. The book shows that she put in much work and thought in collecting these examples of actors and the roles they play.” — Arlan Wise, The Evolving Astrologer

“If ever a book should come with a carton of popcorn, it’s Mirror Mirror. Prodigiously researched, painstakingly detailed to satisfy the worst cases of data freakery, and beautifully turned out (applause for publisher Margaret Cahill), this is a book that (like all good movie franchises) most probably will end up with a sequel and a prequel.” — Victor Olliver, Editor, Astrological Journal

Growing Pains: Astrology in Adolescence

Book cover of Growing Pains:Astrology in Adolescence, foreword by Bernard Eccles, astrology book on teenage developmentForeword by Bernard Eccles

“Alex Trenoweth’s book brings astrology into the classroom in a way that teachers can use responsibly and effectively.” — Bernard Eccles

Reviews:

“Every parent wants the best for their child, especially when it comes to their education. Growing Pains is an indispensable resource for understanding your child’s unique template for learning. This book offers an objective perspective, along with insightful guidance and practical tips to help you naviagate your child’s journey through school.” — Cassandra Tyndall, astrologer and mother, Editor of WellBring Astrology

“If every parent and every teacher read this book it would be a better world. Kids have suffered educationally, not because teachers don’t care, but because a lack of understanding of their inbuilt dissimilarities and associated speci c needs is not conducive to the owering of their potential. This book, written by a teacher and astrologer, will put this right. Not only does it offer insightful and humorous descriptions of character, and methods of getting the best out of that character, it also offers descriptions of famous personalities that come with handsome portrait drawings, and these descriptions allow you to see how the character traits you learn about manifest in the real world. I love this book.” — Chrissy Philp, UK

“It deserves to be in every parent’s toolkit. Trenoweth shows how astrology can guide, protect, and nurture children without superstition.” — Victoria Smoot, former ISAR Journal editor

“As someone who taught high school for thirty years, but who knows little about astrology, I can say I found many things that Alex Trenoweth presented had classroom implications and applications. Alex uses astrology in the classroom for a better understanding of individual students as well as transits that correlate to age and grade-level periods of intellectual and emotional development. Her ideas that relate to the Jupiter and Saturn transits can have practical applications in curriculum development. . .When you get down to it, education is our nation’s number one problem. If we are to have citizens who are both productive and responsible more resources are needed to provide students and educators with more options and not more standardized testing. They’re the ones that will be left to solve problems left by previous generations.” — Alan Bronstein, teacher, US

“Astrology is an invaluable tool to understand individual and whole year groups of school pupils. Alex Trenoweth’s Growing Pains draws on her pioneering work in the classroom. It is recommended reading for teachers, parents and, indeed anyone who wishes go beyond projecting their own expectations, and instead relate to children and adolescents as they are.” — Roy Gillett B.Ed [Hons Ldn], President Emeritus Astrological Association

“Alex has highlighted this area of astrology to the great benefit of parents who care to listen. What she has to say is perceptive and wise. Her pupils would have been nurtured so well by her understanding of ‘where they were coming from’. I commend you to Alex, her books, and what she has to say.” — Hedley Spargo, teacher, UK

“Alex Trenoweth does that rare thing few astrologers nd a way to do: take real astrology out into the world of laypeople and show them how to bene t from its insights. This book can help adolescents themselves, teachers and parents understand one of the most important and powerful pairs of cycles in astrology and discover the wealth they have to offer. Alex draws on her experience as a teacher and astrologer to show how the cycles can be used to grasp and get the best of critical developmental cycles and presents them in a way that brings out the richness and depth of astrology in her inimitable style. I am so pleased this book is out in a new edition: unlike the latest theory on adolescent development, its value to parents and students will never go out of style.” — Rod Suskin, astrologer, South Africa
