In late 1968 and early 1969, Transit Jupiter was opposing Steve’s Moon when he was hired to work for Hewlett-Packard Co by Hewlett Packard himself. Not bad progress for a lad who had not yet reached his first Saturn opposition. Natally, Steve had Jupiter conjunct Uranus so his talent for high technology was greatly magnified. This conjunction’s placement in the sensitive sign of Cancer enabled him to remove the remoteness of Uranus so it appealed to the average person and not just the geeks.
By the time of his first Saturn opposition, he had met Steve Wozniak and the two would eventually establish Apple Computer, Inc.. During his final year of high school, Jupiter made three conjunctions to his South Node whilst Jupiter had squared his natal Moon. He enrolled in college later that year but instinctively knew further education wasn’t for him. Although he continued to audit classes, he had dropped out of college. There is one extremely fortunate outcome: “If I had never dropped in on that single calligraphy course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts.” In 1974, after a series of three conjunctions of Saturn to his South Node, he got a job with Atari, a popular manufacturer of home video games. As Jupiter made a series of three conjunctions to his ascendant in Pisces, Steve traveled to India to search for enlightenment. By the time Jupiter had opposed his Neptune the following year, he returned to California as a Buddhist, had shaved his head and wore traditional Indian clothing.
Jupiter opposed Saturn a few months later in July of 1976, when Steve and Wozniak created the Apple I home computer. In August 1977, as Jupiter was conjunct his South Node, Apple was incorporated into Apple Computer Inc and the first widely used PC was released. Transit Saturn was conjunct Pluto the following year when his daughter Lisa was born. During 1981-81, the Saturn-Jupiter conjunction in Libra opposed Steve’s natal Moon on four separate occasions. Due to faulty construction, Apple III was deemed a commercial failure. In 1983, as Saturn was conjunct his Neptune, The Lisa, with its mouse controlled icons also failed in the marketplace.
In 1984, the year of his Saturn return, Apple launched the Macintosh with a splashy ad campaign on Super Bowl Sunday. In 1985, transit Jupiter made a series of three conjunctions to Steve’s Mercury in Aquarius. He was fired from Apple and left the company with five other employees, including Wozniak. The next Jupiter cycle was a roller coaster ride of varied successes (such a Pixar Animation Studios) and semi-failures (such as The Cube and NEXTSTEP OS). But the next time Jupiter was on his Mercury in Aquarius in 1997, Steve was made CEO and chair of Apple Computer Inc..
By 2000, the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Taurus had opposed his natal Saturn. The next year, Steve’s company had released the next generation operating system, began selling the first iPod and released iTunes softeware.
In 2004, as transit Saturn began making a number of aspects to his natal planets, Steve was treated to a rare but curable form of pancreatic cancer. In 2006, as Jupiter transited Steve’s Saturn by conjunction, he became one of the wealthiest men in the world thanks to Disney buying Pixar for $7.4 billion dollars. Pixar had been started by Steve as Jupiter passed over his ascendant in Pisces and then sold as Jupiter had squared and Saturn opposed his natal Mercury by transit. In 2010, Saturn was in opposition and Jupiter was in conjunction to his natal Moon, the year Apple sold 15 million iPads.
